Well, what a trip!
With hangover looming over our heads, tonight's show, and our first QLD show is to be at
"Her Majesty's Bar" in Brissie.
Not a bad venue actually, and the crowd pilled in for the first night of Scrum &
Switchblade's unrelenting chaos. Shades of dust were first cab off the rank, and a
rather young vocalist fronts the band with an awesome vocal display. Being local
boyz, the crowd gave them a warm reception, and all was good.
Next was Switchblade's turn. What more can I say than simply, we came, we saw, we played,
we kicked some ass. Wasn't 100% happy with my performance, but that's because I'm a
dickhead & nobody likes me anyway... We had a good crowd and some really good feedback
after the show. Crazy crowds man...
Now for the allmighty SCRUM!!!
Scrum mounted the stage in record time. The mood is set, and the first chords ring
out, I thought they had a descent sound, but a better PA would have better suited them.
The crowd lost their fucking minds to the groove. Sweat pounded the small ass stage as
the Scrum boyz artistically wove a tapestry of agression & melody. One punter (who knows
who he is but probably can't remember this) got so excited by the organised chaos, that
he got kicked out of the venue for being so animated. Oh yeah, and picking a fight...
Scrum once again did not fail to impress me, my ears almost bleed.
Star performances by both Scrum & Switchblade, it left us begging for more, and the
following gigs gave us what we wanted...
After the gig (by Pjscrum)
Below are pics of the open air bar situated above her majesty's bar. After the gig wound up, we found ourselves here, in the middle of the city, in the middle of the open air Queen St Mall (think Pitt St Mall), sucking back piss and enjoying Kill Switch Engaged at max volume with hoards of people till 2am! Nothing like this this would ever happen in Sydney, in fact it's illegal!! A truly memorable way to wind up our second day on tour. I cant wait to drink there again.
