I'll be the first to admit, I didn't have high expectations for this show. The line up was strong, admittedly, but being on a Sunday afternoon (and at the bat & ball) I was skeptical. Only two weeks before, about half the bands on this bill played here with Dark Order up top and only got 80 payers through the door. So when this line up of mostly newish bands attracted over 150 payers, it was quite a shock.
This was our drummer's last show. After almost two years of jamming, recording and gigging with Scrum, Chris Jackson decided his heart just wasn't in it anymore. That said he played a great last outing. The crowd was probably the most intense we've ever had at our shows, which just just made us mosh harder on stage. (See pics of Russell after the gig below. haha). Besides the pissed dude in the front knocking everything over the gig went down without a hitch.
Things are just going up and up at the moment. We're making more friends from other bands (and from the crowd) with every gig. It's all these people that are making the shows more enjoyable to play every time. Thanks folks, we can't wait to catch up with ya'll on July 11th.
Until then, Jig It Up Scrumblade!!
Chris.
